About Us

Drylaw and Telford Community Gardens project was developed after substantial consultation work was carried between 2004-2007 by the Drylaw and Telford Community Council. As a result of this consultation local people had requested that the smaller open spaces be left as Open Spaces or upgraded for better Community use.

With this in mind the Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre submitted an application to the Climate Challenge Fund in July 2009, this application was successful and the grant was awarded in September 2009.

Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre is a centre that is based in the Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership area of the City of Edinburgh, the centre was opened in 1994. We provide the local community with a range of Educational, Social and Recreational activities. To find out more about our current programme please visit our website at www.drylawnc.org.uk for more information.

The Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre will work closely with North Edinburgh Trust and the Community Gardens Steering Group to ensure that the project is completed by March 2011. The Community Gardens Steering Group is made up of Stakeholders, Local People, Local Councillor and staff members.

We will be carrying out further consultation with resident who live directly around the small open spaces to ensure that we have engaged with as many people as possible.

The Steering Group will then make an informed decision based on this consultation and with support and guidance from the Project Worker.
